Frank Fritz, the former star and co-host of the popular History Channel series ‘American Pickers‘ who left the show in the middle of it’s 20th season, has died at the age of 60, according to an announcement from longtime friend and ex co-host Mike Wolfe.
“We’ve been on countless trips and shared so many miles and I feel blessed that I was there by his side when he took one last journey home. I love you buddy and will miss you so much I know your in a better place,” Wolfe wrote on social media.
Annette Oberlander, another longtime friend of Fritz’s, said that Fritz died at a hospice facility in Davenport, Iowa saying that she was at his bedside, along with Wolfe, and clarified that Fritz was 60, not 58 which some websites and outlets had reported, via the Associated Press.\
Back in June 2023, it was reported that Fritz had been receiving in-patient care since suffering a debilitating stroke in 2022, which hospitalized him, and was placed under a temporary guardianship, according to The Des Moines Register.
“I’ve [known] Frank for more [than] half my life and what you’ve seen on TV has always been what I have seen, a dreamer who was just as sensitive as he was funny. The same off camera as he was on, Frank had a way of reaching the hearts of so many by just being himself,” Wolfe continued.
