‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’, the highly-anticipated sequel to 2018’s Black Panther, dominated a rather quiet Thanksgiving weekend box office, a weekend that saw Disney’s ‘Strange World’ flop.
According to Variety, ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ scored $8.1 million on Thanksgiving day, as well as $18.2 million on Friday, which dwarfed Disney’s latest animated film which garnered $5.2 million, bringing its total box office performance on opening weekend to $11.9 million.
Those numbers are far off projections of a $40 million earning for the film.
However, the success of ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ made it an overall successful weekend for Disney.
