Disney+ is gearing up for the upcoming release of their new TV show ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ which will see Charlie Cox, who portrayed Daredevil in the wildly popular series on Netflix, suit up as Matt Mudock once again.
“I’ll tell you, some of the most brutal action we’ve ever brought to the screen is coming in Daredevil: Born Again, which isn’t a horror show, but really it packs a lot of power and there’s a lot of visceral action, to say the least,” Brad Winderbaum, the head of streaming, television, and animation at Marvel Studios said during an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
Marvel revealed the first look at Cox’s Matt Murdock in costume for Daredevil: Born Again via a special anniversary spot that was celebrating Marvel’s 85th anniversary.
The cast has been active in attending fan conventions, such as Disney’s D23 Expo, as stars including Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk have all been working to hype the new show.
The show will pick up with Fisk pursuing political endeavors in New York.
“Deborah and I had a scene where we find an old box — am I allowed to say that? I think I can say that,” Cox said at D23. “We had a scene where we were looking through a box and we find stuff from the past, and it was real stuff from the past. It was stuff from the old [show]. It was like a photo frame we used on a set eight years ago and we were looking at it together — well, I wasn’t looking at it. But we were reminiscing over it, and it was sweet. It was kind of a little bit of life imitating art.”
