Following the massive box office success off ‘Alien: Romulus’ social media was buzzing about the tease that was shown at the end of credits for some audiences of a new Alien project called ‘Alien: Earth’.
Now, FX has released a teaser trailer that gives fans a look at the brand new FX series that is set in the world of Ridley Scott’s Alien and comes from Noah Hawley, currently set to premier on Hulu sometime in 2025.
While the teaser doesn’t offer much in regards to details, or even a firm release date, is does build off the momentum that the film generated due to a stellar run in theaters and will surely have fans excited for what is in store.
According to the official synopsis: “When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman (Sydney Chandler) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat in FX’s highly anticipated TV series Alien: Earth from creator Noah Hawley. FX’s Alien: Earth original series coming in 2025, only on Hulu.”
The show also stars Alex Lawther, Essie Davis, Timothy Olyphant, Kit Young, Adarsh Gourav, David Rysdahl, Babou Ceesay, Lily Newmark, Adrian Edmondson, Sandra Yi Sencindiver, Moe Bar-El, and more.
While Alien: Earth will be set before the events of Alien, the series won’t dive too much into Scott’s Prometheus and Alien: Covenant movies.
“Ridley and I have talked about this — and many, many elements of the show,” Hawley said during an interview with KCRW’s The Business, via The Hollywood Reporter. “For me, and for a lot of people, this ‘perfect life form’ — as it was described in the first film — is the product of millions of years of evolution that created this creature that may have existed for a million years out there in space. The idea that, on some level, it was a bioweapon created half an hour ago, that’s just inherently less useful to me.”
