The Cincinnati Reds and FanDuel Sports Network (Main Street Sports) have reached an agreement on a new broadcast deal that will handle their in-market local broadcasts for 2025, according to MLB.com’s Mark Sheldon.
Main Street Sports is the new brand name for the broadcast company that has been known as Diamond Sports Group, and underwent a rebrand after going through Chapter 11 bankruptcy back in November.
Reds games will continue on the FanDuel Sports Network, which had previously operated as Bally Sports Ohio and will offer the same setup that has been in place in the past, with the main change being that fans can now have the option to tune into live sports streams on the FanDuel Sports Network app in addition to watching them on TV.
“Representatives of the former Diamond Sports and myself and Phil [Castellini, the team’s president] stayed in touch periodically since we made the decision to go to [MLB],” Reds’ chief operating officer Doug Healy said in an official statement. “Recently, as in the last few weeks, they approached us about re-engaging and discussing our 2025 broadcast rights.”
“The deal with FanDuel does enhance our economics slightly. … It’s our goal to continue to give (GM Nick Krall) and his staff every available resource that the franchise has in 2025. Then it’s up to Nick how best to spend that” he added.
Main Street Sports will now carry in-market broadcasts for the Angels, Braves, Brewers, Cardinals, Marlins, Rays, Reds, Royals and Tigers.
